From January to March, Blizzard's MMORPG, World of Warcraft, went from 10 million subscribers to 7.1 million subscribers. The fastest loss in subscribers World of Warcraft has ever experienced. Some people speculate that part of this decrease is because people have already played through the most recent expansion, Warlords of Draenor, and have since lost interest in the game. Although subscription is decreasing, Activision Blizzard points out that World of Warcraft is still the most popular subscription based MMO, and that revenue of the game remains steady due to a recent price increase in certain regions.
Activision Blizzard also mentions that Destiny and Hearthstone now have over 50 million players and nearly $1 billion in total lifetime revenue. So overall, the company is still generating a huge amount of revenue.
