URLs have been updated. This means that now they'll be based more on the title and names, and less on numbers. Here are some examples.

    Old URL

    videogameinfo.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1

    New URL

    http://www.videogameinfo.net/forums/welcome-vgi/welcome-video-game-info-com-forums-1/

    Old URL

    videogameinfo.net/forums/member.php?u=1

    New URL

    videogameinfo.net/forums/members/phsycical/

    Old URL

    videogameinfo.net/forums/album.php?albumid=26

    New URL

    http://www.videogameinfo.net/forums/members/pokemonexpert3525/albums/26/
    Old URL

    videogameinfo.net/forums/group.php?groupid=1

    New URL

    http://www.videogameinfo.net/forums/groups/cartoon-network-fans-unite/

And much more! All the old URLs have, and will permanently be redirected to the new URLs, so all your old bookmarks will still work.

Also,a "Like" feature has been added. You can "Like" a post, and a users total number of likes will appear in their profile. To prevent abuse, it has no standing on your experience points at the moment, it's just for fun for now. Rewards may be given to heavily liked users in the future.

In addition to that, a "Share" button has been added. If you like a certain post or section of VGI, please feel free to share it with others.

I don't mean to sound mean in any way, but does the URL change affect anything? o.o

Also, I'm really digging this Like/Share feature. :D

    1. Search Engine Friendly. Search engines factor the URL into the results. For example if someone searches for "Pokemon" "videogameinfo.net/pokemon" is more likely to come up than "videogameinfo.net/post.php?3234" or something, even if the content on the pages are the same.

    2. Aesthetics: I personally just think it "looks" better. More organized, makes more sense, less messy, etc.

    3. This may vary depending on the link, but I personally think some of the links are easier to remember. For example "forums/announcements" seems easier to know offhand than "forums/forumdisplay.php?f=2"
