Sony E3: Announced PS4 games

    The majority of Sony's 2017 E3 press conference discussing upcoming games for their flagship console, the PlayStation 4. While the majority of the conference was revealing more information about previously announced games, there was a few new games and expansion announced, including:

    New Games

    Horizon Zero Dawn Frozen Wilds: The "Frozen Wilds" is an expansion to Horizon Zero Dawn, scheduled to release in 2017. Horizon Zero Dawn a role playing game exclusively on the PS4. The player controls a hunter in a world that's been taken over by robots.

    Monster Hunter World: The next installment in the Monster Hunter franchise. Capcom mentioned that players will be allowed to move freely across the map. For the first time in the series, players from different regions will be able to play together online. The game is scheduled to release in early 2018 on PlayStation 4 and is coming to Xbox One and PC at a later date.

    Shadow of the Colossus: An HD remake of the PS2 game released back in 2005. An action adventure game where the protagonist must travel across vast areas of land on horseback and defeat sixteen beings known as colossi. The remake is scheduled to release on PlayStation 4 in early 2018. Several VR games were announced as well.

    Sony also revealed additional trailers, release dates, or gameplay details for previously announced games.

    Previously announced games

    Days Gone: A third party post-apocalyptic open world shooter exclusively for the PlayStation 4. Players control a protagonist called Deacon John, a former bounty hunter. The game takes place after a global pandemic turned the vast majority of humanity into zombie-like creatures called "Freakers".

    Call of Duty WWII: The next installment in the Call of Duty franchise. Scheduled to release on November 03 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

    Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite: An upcoming fighting game from Capcom pitting fighters from Marvel and Capcom against each other in two on two fights, instead of the three on three style from previous games. The game is scheduled to release on September 19 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. A demo is available now on Xbox One and PS4 store.

    God of War: An addition trailer was shown for the upcoming God of War exclusively on the PS4. As previously revealed, the game will occur chronologically after God of War III, and will focus on Norse mythology rather than Greek. Sony announced during E3 of 2017 that the game would be released early 2018.

    Detroit: Become Human: A game from Quantic Dream, the makers of Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain, that revolves around "deviant" androids who escape their factory and are being hunted down.

    Destiny 2: An addition trailer was revealed for Bungie's upcoming first-person shooter. The game is scheduled to release on September 6 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a PC release coming on October 24th. The PlayStation 4 version will have exclusive content including the Exotic sniper Borealis, The Strike Mission Lake of Shadows, the PvP map Retribution, the ship City Apex, and additional gear.

    Marvel's Spider-Man: Sony released a new trailer for the upcoming Spiderman game coming to the PS4. The game was originally scheduled to release this year, but during E3 2017 it was announced that the game was going to be delayed until 2018.
