    Sony had a lot of new and exciting information to share with us at this years E3 conference. The most important announcement at the conference would have to have been there new handheld console, the PlayStation Vita.

    PlayStation Vita
    The PlayStation is the new handheld system that was announced at this years E3. Vita in Latin means life.


    Features of the new PS Vita include a social connection tool called Near. Near is a feature that allows you to connect with gamers around you and recommend certain games to them etc.

    The PlayStation Vita provides a 5 inch touch screen on the front, and it also provides a unique multi-touch pad on the rear. It also now features two analogue sticks to enhance the gaming experience in action and shooter games. There are two types of PS Vita. You can get a Wireless internet model and a Wireless/3G model. The PlayStation Vita will launch in the global market at the end of 2011.

    On the PlayStation Vita, there will be a front and rear camera, built in microphone and built in stereo speakers. It also provides a frame rate of 120 frames per second.

    One of the many new games featured for the PlayStation Vita is Uncharted: Golden Abyss. When playing this game, you don’t always need to use the 4 buttons (triangle, square, circle and x). For example, when fighting, a series of directions pop up on the screen showing you what to do that allows you to attack.


    Another game that was featured for the PS Vita was Ruin. Ruin is a very action packed game that relies on a series of combo attacks to defeat your enemies.

    Others games made for the PS Vita include: ModNation Racers, which is a game that allows to create and race on your own racing tracks. Little Big Planet was also re created for the PS Vita. You can play the game with the 5 inch touch screen, the multi-touch pad on the read end of the device, by tilting it and also just with your regular buttons.

    The PlayStation Vita will be in stores by the holiday season this year. The WiFi model of the PS Vita will retail at $249, and the 3G/WiFi model will retail at $299.

    PlayStation Move/Games
    PlayStation Move is an add on to PlayStation 3 that brings the gamers closer to the action. PlayStation Move has sold more then 8.8 millions copies since it’s launch in September of 2010.

    One of the most popular games featured at Sony’s E3 conference was Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. With it’s incredible graphics and game play it’s no wonder. This game was created by Naughty Dog gaming and at the conference they supplied a preview of some of the game play, as well as a trailer for the game in 3D. This game is said to be released on the 11th of November 2011.


    An example of one of the new games made for PlayStation Move is NBA 2K12. With a set of buttons on the move controller, you simply aim your controller at the TV and move it around to play. With your set buttons you can pass/defend and shoot.


    Medieval Move is another game that was previewed for the PS Move. As it’s name states, it’s all medieval style. You are a warrior fighting for his life, equipped with a sword, bow & arrows and some throwing stars. With nothing but the movements of yours hands, you are able to control this variety of weapons.

    Another game previewed that is compatible with the PlayStation Move is Star Trek. Due to Star Trek’s popular franchise, this game is sure to be a hit. The release of this game will be timed with the release of the Star Trek film coming out next year. This game will be a co-op action, adventure that contains an original story line.

    Other games for PS Move and PlayStation 3 include, Harry Potter, Little Big Planet 2, Resistance 3, Transformers, Wipeout, Phineas and Ferb, Everybody Dance, Need for Speed: The Run, inFamous and Bioshock: Infinite.
