    Microsoft E3 2011
    Microsoft had many new games and features to share with us at this year’s E3 conference. The major topic of their presentation were there updates for Kinect and many games compatible with it. They also had previews of very exciting and anticipated games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3 and Halo 4.

    Kinect
    The highlight of Microsoft’s E3 conference was definitely the new games and features played and used via Kinect. One of the new features added on to Kinect is voice recognition. Full details about the update are still unknown, however, we do know that they have customized the XBOX360 menu to be compatible with this new feature. For example, you could say “XBOX MUSIC” and it will locate the music menu for you.

    Not only have they added new features to Kinect, they have also prepared many new and exciting games. One Kinect game that got people talking was Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.Ghost Recon is one of the games that uses this new voice recognition as an advantage. You may customize your weapons and change game features all by using your voice. However you can still do this by certain hand movements. Of course, this game isn’t only available for use via Kinect, you can still play this game using your remote.

    Other exciting games compatible with Kinect include Ryse and Fable:The Journey

    Another extremely popular game mentioned in their conference was Minecraft. You may know of Minecraft to be a computer game, however they have combined Minecraft and Kinect to create a new epic game. This game will be released on XBOX360 late 2011.

    Another exciting game being released on Kinect is Star Wars. You can sway your hands to use the force and control objects. Swing your arms to swing your Lightsaber and you can also fly around in spaceships.

    Creators and developers of Kinect have also made numerous features such as Kinect Fun Labs, Kinect Finger Tracking and Kinect Object Capture.

    Other games mentioned include: DisneyLand Adventure, Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster and Kinect Sports Season 2

    One of the games previewed at Microsoft’s E3 conference was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

    The confirmed released of this new game is the 8th November 2011. This game will be available for the PC, XBOX360 and the PlayStation 3. There has also been much discussion going on about Modern Warfare 3 being similar to Modern Warfare 2, which is exciting to some, but a let down to others.

    However the game that really got people talking was Battlefield 3. With it’s incredible gameplay and graphics, it had gathered everyone’s attention. At the moment, there is a large debate about Battlefield 3 or Modern Warfare 3 being the better game. You may think that Modern Warfare 3 would have the most supporters, however Battlefield 3 seems to have most of the attention at the moment. This game is due to release on October 25th, 2011 and is available for PC, XBOX360 and PlayStation 3.

    The most popular game previewed at Microsoft’s E3 conference was the trailer of Halo 4. Microsoft had intentionally left the best news for last and certainly finished with a bang. The trailer itself doesn’t show you much, however it is definitely intense and it really kept the audience on the edge of their seat. The release date of the game is still unknown, however we do know it’ll be released sometime in the holidays of 2012.

    They have also remade an remastered Halo Combat Evolved as it is it’s 10 year anniversary. They will release the remastered version under the name “Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary“. It will be released on November the 15th, 2011. This game will also be compatible with XBOX LIVE.

    Tomb Raider was also another game announced at the conference, and you play as Lara Croft.
    Also, Gears of War 3 was another popular game, with it’s exciting game play and amazing graphics.​
